Hmm. The Champaign County Humane Society has a pitbull with a sweet face who’s lived with cats and other dogs. She's a big dog though (over 60 pounds). Hmm, I saw a PetFinder listing for a red standard poodle.

I’m going to open Zara’s door tonight in case she wants to wander around. Bella will be in the bedroom with me, and the door will be closed because Oliver and Lily like to spar late at night. Not exactly restful!

Now Bella was pulling at the string on my pajamas. Help!

I was blaming Oliver for knocking down stuff off the table that Bella then chews, but the sneaky girl is pulling stuff off the table and counters herself.

Bella was whining and going into the bathroom where she pooped previously, so I scrambled to get her outside. She needed to pee.

Slept and got up at 7:30 AM. I’m feeling a bit better, although my voice is still squeaky.

I’m in the bathroom about to shower with a cat (Oliver) and a dog (Bella). Crowded in here. Oliver jumped to the top of the shower and then jumped in. I opened the door for him and Bella went into the shower stall. Maybe I’ll take my shower later. Now Oliver is climbing the shelves above the washer and dryer. I finally was able to shower with an audience :)

Bella was whining downstairs and needed to go out. Fed the cats.

The snow is coming down at a pretty good clip. I have to admit that it's pretty. Remembered to charge the snow blower.

Mimi is sleeping in this morning. Good morning for it.

I've had Bella for a week! It's been an interesting week.

The poochka has taken to lying down on the bed while I'm working. Good. I took her out and she noped out.

Hmm. I'm covered for $2500 for hearing aids, but I think that I couldn't go to Costco. That wouldn't cover full retail price, so do I go to Costco and pay for the whole thing myself for cheap or go elsewhere and get partial reimbursement?

I just contacted a local wealth management firm to see what they have to offer. I'm getting really tired with dealing with the trust.

Left work early to lie down. (I had a meeting with my boss earlier today and she said that I “sounded awful”.) I’ll log on tomorrow to make up the time. Woke up a little before 7 PM. The puppy is crashed out in the dog bed.

Fed the cats. I’m thinking of going back to sleep soon, but I suppose that I should eat something.

Bella is getting cat poop out of the litter boxes. Ugh. And yes, she has food. I gave her a chew “bone”. (I’m not sure what it’s made of, but it has a meat filling. Oh, it might be a peanut butter filling. I need to go to Walmart tomorrow and get more.)

Got my new Zenni glasses. They’re okay. I like the Target glasses better.

Took Bella out and she noped out. She wanted to go back to bed! She fell asleep in the kitchen.

Now that I’ve eaten, I think that I’ll go to bed early. I’ll clear the sidewalks tomorrow.

Bella is bugging Oliver for some reason. I told her that he didn't like it.

Got up with my alarm at 4 AM. Went back to sleep at 5:30 AM. I’ve decided to put Oliver in the warm bathroom for the time being. I’m tired.

Zara is confused because I fed her earlier. She wants more food now!

I subscribed to Consumer Reports online. (My dad subscribed me to the magazine.) I wanted to read their ratings of hearing aids. They said that Costco is the best place to buy them.

Someone is selling a ten-gallon tank in Bloomington (about an hour from here) for $15. I’d like to use it as a quarantine tank.

I was opening a kitty tunnel for Oliver when I cut myself. It’s a bird; it’s a plane; it’s SuperKlutz! At least my First Aid Kit had a bandage in it.

Zara and I played with one of the sticks with feathers. She loved it. I need to lay in a supply of them.

Zara saw the cat carrier and noped out. I told her that it wasn’t for her. The gate is too wide for the bathroom door, which is a complication that I didn’t expect. I have it kind of wedged in.

Anyway, I have food, water, a litter box, a bed, and cat toys set up in the warm bathroom along with the carrier. I think that I’ll eat something and take a nap.

Zara doesn’t like the gate in front of the warm bathroom. She started banging the gate, so I took it down. She ate a little of the kitten food.

Napped. Threw myself together.

Went to the Humane Society. Signed the paperwork and got Oliver. They said that he walked into the carrier! You’re going to think that I’m crazy, but his sister’s adopters backed out, so I’m going to meet her tomorrow and probably adopt her too.

Oliver did not like the car and let me know. He’s now in the warm bathroom. Zara and Mimi haven’t met him yet. He loves the ball on a circular track. He plays with it and twirls around. Apparently it’s endlessly fascinating. He stops playing and rubs up against me. (I think that his nickname will be “lover boy” because he’s so cuddly.) I’d say he’s settling well.

Mimi has seen Oliver. She’s not thrilled and is growling a little. Now Zara has seen Oliver. She went right up to the gate and wasn’t hissing. You go, girl!

Napped with Zara. Man, I’m tired.

Oliver has a bottomless pit for a stomach. He ate all the dry food and wet food too. After I left his temporary room, he knocked the gate down and came flying out. I told him that he was going to have to deal with Zara and Mimi. Mimi was watching him earlier without hissing or growling.

He’s figured out how to get the ball out of his toy, so I ordered more for him.

I think that I’ll eat and go to bed.

Oliver followed me upstairs. Mimi is not amused. And he walked on my laptop and changed its colors to grayscale. So far, I haven't been able to fix it :(

Junk Day

Hmm. The junk haulers said between 8 AM and 10, and I was ready, but silence so far. I could have slept later! I've been working on the kitchen table while I wait. I also installed the Picture This app to identify a vine growing in the front yard; it's a grape. It also said that the plant that I like, which we thought was an almond, is a Japanese spiraea.

The junk luggers called and they'll get here around 10. It was 10:15. They got all the plumbing stuff. They did an estimate on the garage and basement, and it came out to $2600, which is doable. I have an appointment to get it done next Friday.

Ugh. I have over $1000 in my flexible spending account, and only $500 can roll over to next year. (I had a lot fewer therapy appointments than anticipated because I've been in Michigan.) I chose a pair of fancy-shmancy glasses with Transitions lenses as a backup pair in the FSA store, but I want to doublecheck my pupillary distance. So I'll order them tomorrow. No, I bought some OTC hearing aids. I just had enough money. I'll still get a backup pair of glasses, but I'll get it from Zenni.

I tried to get the algae out of the pond, but it was too big to scoop up. I'll contact the pond guy next week. My plant identification app said that it's duckweed, not algae. There are chemicals that can get rid of it.

We got out of work early for the holiday weekend (we get Juneteenth off), which was nice. I took a nap and slept through until 3 AM. I'm going to eat and go back to sleep. The cats are still asleep. Oops, Zara got up and wants food.
