My car insurance in Michigan is twice the cost of my California insurance. Wow. (Michigan has no-fault insurance plus it requires larger amount of coverage for things like property damage.)

I don't have a mortgage here, but car insurance, health insurance, and the cost of my preexisting condition will take up the slack.
